Former Bafana Bafana winger Ayanda Patosi joins One FC in ABC Motsepe League

Former Bafana Bafana winger Ayanda Patosi has joined newly formed ABC Motsepe League club One Football Club, adding his experience to the Western Cape side after leaving Hope FC.

Patosi, 33, made 12 appearances for South Africa between 2013 and 2016. He spent last season with Hope FC, but his campaign was cut short by injury after the first half of the season.

The winger subsequently left the Immortals before the end of the year. He has now continued his career with another Western Cape club after One FC acquired the status of Nanini Na All Stars.

One FC are among the new sides preparing to compete under their new identity in the ABC Motsepe League. The club has also appointed Dylan Deane as head coach.

Deane previously worked with Hope FC and helped guide The Immortals to promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. He departed the club before the start of the 2026/27 campaign.

Patosi is one of the first two players announced by One FC since the club completed the purchase of Nanini Na All Stars’ status. The other new signing is Shaakir Solomons.

The club confirmed Patosi’s arrival in a social media announcement featuring the message: “AYANDA PATOSI IS ONE,”

One FC then added: “We are proud to welcome 33-year-old Ayanda Patosi to ONE Football Club

“Welcome to The Ones, Pato.”

The move gives Patosi a fresh start after an interrupted spell at Hope FC, where his involvement ended following the injury sustained in the opening half of the previous campaign. His next club will be One FC, who have begun assembling their squad after taking over the league status of Nanini Na All Stars.

The signing also reunites Patosi with a club operating in the same Western Cape football environment as Hope FC. Deane’s appointment means the new team will be led by the coach who previously secured Hope FC’s promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship before leaving ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Patosi’s international career included 12 matches for Bafana Bafana across the period from 2013 to 2016. At club level, he now joins Solomons as one of the first confirmed additions to One Football Club following the change in status.

The club’s announcement marks the beginning of its recruitment under the One FC name, with Patosi presented as one of the first players to represent The Ones.
