The inaugural Coupe du Faso multisports will bring together 11 sporting disciplines in Burkina Faso, with more than 100 million FCFA allocated among the federations involved.
The details were announced on Friday, 23 October 2026, by Valerie Badolo/Tapsoba, director general of Sports and Leisure, during a news conference.
Athletics, sports for people with disabilities, volleyball, handball, rugby, wrestling, boxing, petanque, karate-do, taekwondo and cycling will all feature in the competition.
The event is designed to bring several national federations together under a single sporting programme, creating a shared competition across a broad range of disciplines.
More than 100 million FCFA will be distributed between the 11 participating federations. The funding forms a central part of the organisation of the new multisport tournament and is intended to support the different sports represented.
The first edition marks an initiative to unite a wide section of Burkina Faso’s sporting community through one national event.
