Bayern Munich are waiting for the results of a medical examination on Michael Olise after the France winger suffered a right knee injury against Borussia Dortmund, with his availability for the Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid still unclear.
Olise was hurt during Saturday’s 2-2 draw between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. He received treatment at the club’s training ground on Sunday, but Bayern have not yet issued an official update on either the nature of the injury or how long the player could be unavailable.
The 24-year-old is due to undergo further medical tests on Monday morning. Those examinations will assess the condition of his knee and help determine whether he can travel with the squad to Spain and feature against Atletico Madrid.
Bayern are scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital for the Champions League match on 03 November 2026. Initial indications have offered cautious encouragement to manager Vincent Kompany, with Olise apparently avoiding an injury that would keep him out for a lengthy period. However, his participation in the European fixture has not been confirmed.
The French winger’s absence would represent a significant setback for Bayern, particularly because the club are already dealing with several important attacking injuries. Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Ismaila Sarr and Luis Diaz are among those listed as unavailable, increasing the importance of Olise to Kompany’s plans.
Despite that situation, Bayern’s coaching staff are not expected to take a risk with Olise unless he has fully recovered. Playing him before he is ready could worsen the problem and potentially turn a short-term concern into a longer absence.
The club’s immediate focus is therefore on Monday’s assessment, which should provide a clearer indication of whether Olise can make the journey and take part in the match against Atletico Madrid.
The listed Bayern schedule also includes a Bayern Munich Women fixture in the German Women’s Bundesliga against Werder Bremen on 06 November 2026.
