Barcelona make two changes for Champions League meeting with Aston Villa

Hans Flick has made two changes to Barcelona’s starting line-up for Tuesday’s Champions League league-phase meeting with Aston Villa at Camp Nou.

Gerard Martin replaces Frenkie de Jong, while Anthony Gordon comes in for Karim Adeyemi. Both changes were made from the side that started Barcelona’s La Liga match against Alaves.

Barcelona’s starting XI is:

Juan Garcia, Farinas, Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Fermin, Gordon and Raphinha.

Flick has named Wojciech Szczesny and Livakovic as his goalkeeping options on the bench. The substitutes also include Guillem Victor, Alejandro Balde, Alex Campos, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Bernal, Orian Goren, Adeyemi, Gabriel Jesus and Hamza Abdelkarim.

The match is Barcelona’s fourth in the league phase of this season’s Champions League. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has also confirmed his team for the game.

Aston Villa will begin with Suzuki, Matty Cash, Victor Lindelof, Pau Torres, Ian Maatsen, Boubacar Kamara, Joao Gomes, John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia, Manzami and Jackson.
