Ajax Amsterdam are continuing their efforts to strengthen their squad despite the transfer window having closed, with free agent Yves Bissouma still under consideration.
The Mali international is available after his contract with Tottenham ended, allowing Ajax Amsterdam to make him an offer outside the transfer window.
According to De Telegraaf, the Dutch club are negotiating a one-season contract with the 30-year-old midfielder, including an option for a further year. Africafoot previously reported exclusively that Ajax officials remained interested in Bissouma.
Several clubs from Europe’s five major leagues and from Asia have also shown interest in the player. However, sources cited by Africafoot say Ajax’s leadership remains confident of completing the deal.
Bissouma’s current market value is estimated at 10 million euros. During his time at Tottenham, he earned an annual salary of 3,219,788 euros, equivalent to 2,092,862,200 FCFA.
Ajax Amsterdam are due to face Willem II in their sixth-round match of the Dutch league. For that fixture, 1xbet lists Ajax as favourites at 1.10, with a draw priced at 9.00 and a Willem II victory at 21.00.
