Lamine Yamal has insisted that he remains confident his opportunity to win the Ballon d’Or will arrive, following the 2026 ceremony.
The FC Barcelona forward said he was focused on continuing his development rather than dwelling on the individual award. In a message posted on his Instagram page the day after the ceremony, the Spain international wrote: “My time will come. Good things take time, and I have faith in the path I am building.”
Yamal added: “Without rushing, with enthusiasm and with the calmness of knowing that one day my moment will come.”
The message reflected his determination to progress patiently and with confidence, while he also congratulated the winners of the ceremony.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or has now passed, but Yamal said his attention had turned back to his main objective: helping his club return to winning ways.
“I am focusing once again on what matters most: making sure FC Barcelona win again,” he concluded.
