David Mokwa’s agent has played down speculation over the SV Elversberg striker’s future, saying no formal approach has yet been made for the Franco-Cameroonian forward.
The 22-year-old has attracted attention in Germany after making a strong impact for SV Elversberg. He joined the squad during the winter transfer window and helped the club secure a historic promotion to the top flight.
Mokwa then established himself as a regular member of the team during his first season in Germany’s first division, strengthening his reputation as an emerging attacking talent.
His progress has led to growing interest from elsewhere. According to exclusive information from Africafoot, a number of German clubs are monitoring his performances, including Mayence. Spanish side Villarreal are also understood to be following the striker, with the club believed to be looking for a player with his profile.
With speculation increasing, Mokwa’s agent, Sofiane Mahieddine, has addressed the situation. Speaking to Maghreb-Foot, the Moroccan representative said that no concrete move had been officially confirmed at this stage.
Mahieddine expressed hope that leading domestic or international clubs could show interest in the future, while stressing the importance of the stability and support Mokwa currently enjoys at SV Elversberg.
The agent believes those factors have played a central role in the forward’s emergence in Germany and remain important to his continued development.
SV Elversberg are due to play their ninth match of the German league season against Dortmund.
