Cristiano Ronaldo’s treble puts him alone at top of Roshn Saudi League hat-trick chart
Cristiano Ronaldo became the outright record holder for Roshn Saudi League hat-tricks after scoring three times in Al Nassr’s 5-3 victory over Al Kholood on Thursday.
The Portugal forward, who captains Al Nassr, produced a decisive display in the 12th round of the competition, adding another treble to his Saudi league record and helping his side secure all three points.
According to football statistics provider Opta, the hat-trick was Ronaldo’s seventh in the professional league since he made his debut in the competition. He moved ahead of Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney, who has scored six hat-tricks.
Ronaldo’s latest goals also took his league tally to seven for the season. He is third in the Roshn Saudi League scoring standings, level with Al Qadsiah’s Mateo Retegui and Al Ittihad forward Youssef En-Nesyri.
Al Qadsiah’s Tijjani Reijnders is second on eight goals, while Toney leads the standings with 13. The contest for the scoring title has intensified after 12 rounds of matches.
The result highlighted Ronaldo’s continued influence in front of goal since joining the Saudi league, as he added another significant landmark to his record in the competition. His hat-trick also allowed him to move clear of Toney in the list of players with the most trebles.
Toney remains in pursuit of the Portugal captain in that particular record and continues to lead the overall scoring chart, with the Al Ahli striker aiming to reduce the gap in the matches ahead.
For Ronaldo, the treble provides further momentum in the league’s statistical races and underlines his continued scoring contribution for Al Nassr despite his advancing age. He will now look to maintain that form as he seeks to add to his record in Saudi football.
