Feyenoord have been urged to consider selling Algeria winger Anis Hadj Moussa during the winter transfer window if a bid of between €35m and €40m is received.
Journalist Michel van Egmond believes the Rotterdam club should take advantage of the opportunity to secure a major financial return, but only if any offer is supported by a bank guarantee.
Hadj Moussa’s future was discussed during episode S07E07 of the Dick Voormekaar Podcast, broadcast by Voetbal International. Van Egmond argued that Feyenoord should be prepared to part with the Algeria international as early as January if the financial conditions are met.
The journalist’s position is that the club should not allow the chance of a significant sale to pass. He believes Feyenoord should demand at least €35m and potentially as much as €40m for the winger, with the banking guarantee designed to ensure the transaction is financially secure.
Newcastle interest expected
Newcastle have been linked with a possible move for Hadj Moussa, and the English club are expected to assess the situation during the next transfer window. However, the precise details of any potential proposal remain unclear.
That possible interest could force Feyenoord to weigh up two competing priorities: retaining an important attacking player or accepting a substantial transfer fee. The club’s decision will depend on whether Newcastle make a formal approach and whether it matches the financial terms being advocated by van Egmond.
Al Ittihad also made approaches for Hadj Moussa during the summer transfer window, although a move ultimately failed to materialise. Africafoot previously reported those developments exclusively.
The Algeria winger is under contract with Feyenoord until 2030. His current market value is estimated at €28m by Transfermarkt, below the €35m-€40m fee suggested by van Egmond.
Feyenoord are due to play Fortuna Sittard in their next match of the 10th round of the Dutch league.
