Moghreb Tetouan’s bonus payment documents do not resolve legal issues – LNFP
The National Professional Football League (LNFP) has clarified that documents submitted by Moghreb Tetouan on October 8 relate only to match bonus payments and do not fulfil the club’s outstanding legal and administrative requirements.
In an explanatory statement, the league said the submissions were specifically connected to procedures for paying match bonuses and should not be interpreted as completing the documentation required to regularise the status of the club’s sporting association.
The clarification comes as Moghreb Tetouan continues to face legal, administrative and financial challenges, with the LNFP maintaining oversight of the club’s regulatory situation.
Legal status remains under review
The LNFP confirmed that it had examined an earlier set of documents provided by Moghreb Tetouan. However, the club’s legal status remains under active monitoring.
The league stressed that the latest submissions do not satisfy the broader administrative and legal obligations required to resolve the status of the club’s corporate entity.
Operations involving the corporate structure have been suspended since July 2023, leaving the club with outstanding matters that must be addressed to meet the relevant regulatory requirements.
Financial obligations remain a concern
Beyond its administrative difficulties, Moghreb Tetouan continues to face financial liabilities, including unpaid salaries and overdue contributions to Morocco’s National Social Security Fund (CNSS).
These obligations form part of the wider challenges confronting the club as it seeks to address its regulatory situation.
The LNFP’s statement reinforces the distinction between documentation relating to match bonus payments and the separate legal and administrative filings required for the club’s sporting association.
Professional licensing requirements remain in force
The league said its assessment forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure that clubs meet the regulatory standards required to obtain their professional licences.
It also emphasised that all clubs remain subject to the same regulatory procedures and must fulfil their administrative and legal commitments to participate in professional league competitions.
Moghreb Tetouan’s legal and administrative situation therefore remains under review as the club works through its outstanding obligations.
