A dog briefly interrupted the Egyptian Premier League fixture between Al Masry and National Bank at Cairo Stadium on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the 84th minute of the eighth-round match in the league phase, when the animal made its way on to the pitch and began wandering around the playing area.
Players and supporters watched as the unexpected visitor moved across the field, prompting referee Mahmoud Nagy to stop the game.
Play resumed only after the dog had been removed from the pitch, allowing the match to continue normally.
Dogs entering the field during football matches have become a familiar sight in some leagues around the world in recent years.
