Al Ahly Tripoli rule out Mustafa Shakshak exit amid Al Ahly links
Al Ahly Tripoli have dismissed reports linking Egyptian giants Al Ahly with a move for Mustafa Shakshak, insisting that no negotiations have taken place over the versatile player’s potential transfer.
The Libyan club’s administrative director, Musaddaq Najah, maintained that the speculation surrounding the Egyptian’s future was driven by player agents rather than any official approach from the Cairo-based outfit.
“Al-Ahli did not negotiate with us to sign Mustafa Shakshak. The matter is just talk from player agents, and we will not take it into account,” Najah said.
He further stressed that the club had no intention of allowing the player to leave during the January transfer window, insisting that his future at the club was not up for discussion.
“The file of Mustafa Shakshak’s departure from the team is completely closed. There is no intention for the player to leave next January, and we will not negotiate with any club regarding his departure,” he added.
Shakshak, who is capable of playing both as a right-back and in midfield, joined Al Ahly Tripoli from Egyptian club ENPPI on a season-long loan. His versatility has reportedly attracted attention, but the Libyan side’s position suggests that any potential move in January is unlikely.
Najah also dismissed reports suggesting that Al Ahly Tripoli were pursuing three players from the Egyptian giants: defender Yasser Ibrahim, forward Hussein El Shahat and Moroccan attacker Ashraf Ben Sharqi.
The administrative director’s comments come as Al Ahly Tripoli prepare for their campaign in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup under Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry.
The Libyan club face a challenging group-stage campaign after being drawn alongside Morocco’s AS FAR, Tanzania’s Azam FC and South Africa’s Durban City FC.
With continental commitments approaching, Al Ahly Tripoli will be keen to maintain stability within their squad as they prepare to compete against some of the continent’s established sides.
For now, Shakshak remains part of the club’s plans, with Najah making it clear that Al Ahly Tripoli have no intention of entertaining offers for the player in the upcoming January transfer window.
