Real Madrid target Barcelona’s home streak as El Clasico arrives

Real Madrid will visit Spotify Camp Nou with the chance to end Barcelona’s remarkable unbeaten home run in La Liga, which has lasted 525 days and included 23 consecutive victories.

Barcelona have not lost a league match in front of their own supporters since 18 May 2025, when Villarreal won 3-2. That defeat came after the Catalan club had already secured the La Liga title.

According to Sport, Barcelona go into this El Clasico having established one of the strongest home records in European football. Their run has not merely avoided defeat: no visiting side has even managed to take a point from them in La Liga during that period.

That dominance has been maintained across three grounds. Barcelona have prevented opponents from leaving with a positive result at Spotify Camp Nou, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys and Johan Cruyff Stadium.

The club’s home form was particularly emphatic during the 2025-2026 season. Barcelona won every one of their league matches at home, collecting 57 points from a possible 57 as they defeated every remaining opponent in the competition.

Their only home setbacks during that campaign came in the Champions League rather than La Liga. Paris Saint-Germain beat them 2-1 in the league phase at Montjuic, while Atletico de Madrid recorded a 2-0 victory in the quarter-final first leg at Spotify Camp Nou.

Barcelona have carried the same form into the opening part of the current season, winning all four matches played at Spotify Camp Nou.

Real Madrid’s arrival therefore represents the biggest immediate challenge to a sequence that has made Barcelona exceptionally reliable on home soil. The visitors will be attempting to become the first La Liga side since Villarreal to win at Barcelona, while also bringing an end to a run that has continued for almost a season and a half.

The figures underline the scale of Barcelona’s achievement: a full 525 days without a home league defeat, 23 straight victories and maximum points from every home fixture in the previous La Liga campaign.
