CAF Champions League: ASEC Mimosas and MAS de Fes goalless at half-time

ASEC Mimosas and MAS de Fes were level at 0-0 at half-time in their decisive CAF Champions League meeting at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.

The first half was lively, but neither side managed to find a way through despite creating several openings.

The Ivorian hosts had the greater share of possession and controlled much of the contest, although they were unable to turn their pressure into a goal. Backed by a passionate home crowd, ASEC Mimosas repeatedly looked to take the initiative.

MAS de Fes, however, remained tactically disciplined and posed a threat on the counter-attack, using quick breaks to try to unsettle the hosts.

ASEC Mimosas are virtually through to the group stage after scoring an away goal in the first leg, which ended 1-1. The Yellow and Black side must now withstand further pressure after the interval, while the Moroccan club know they have to score to overturn the current balance.

The tie remains finely poised ahead of a second half that will decide which team secures a place in the group stage.
