Al Diriyah granted Al Ahli training access before Al Ittihad test

Al Ahli have offered Al Diriyah use of their training facilities in Jeddah ahead of Friday’s Saudi Pro League meeting with Al Ittihad.

The agreement allows Al Diriyah’s first-team squad to hold their final training session on Thursday at Al Ahli’s club stadium as they prepare for their 11th-round fixture against Al Ittihad.

The match will be played at Alinma Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

Al Diriyah’s travelling party arrived in the city early to make the most of their preparation time before the game. The capital club had preferred to complete their final session in Jeddah rather than train after arriving for the match.

Portuguese manager Bruno Lage will use Thursday’s session to finalise his approach for the fixture. He is expected to rely on the club’s eight foreign players, including Algeria international Adel Bulbaina, Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez and French midfielder Enzo Miyo.

Al Diriyah go into the match after securing a 1-0 victory over Al Riyadh in their previous Saudi Pro League game. Spanish midfielder Oscar Rodriguez scored the only goal of that match.

That result lifted Al Diriyah to seventh in the standings on 15 points, with the club ahead of Al Ettifaq on goal difference.
