Al-Ahli and Al-Khaleej fixture moved to Friday as four major Saudi clubs play

The Roshn Saudi League has rescheduled Al-Ahli’s match against Al-Khaleej for Friday after the fixture was postponed hours before it was due to take place.

The game had been scheduled for Thursday evening at Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah as part of the 11th round. The league said the postponement was made for “logistical considerations” in a statement published on its official website.

The rearranged match will be played at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City in Jeddah, with kick-off at 21:00 Mecca time.

The league said the new date had been selected after taking into account the minimum rest period required between matches, as well as the operational and organisational requirements involved in staging the fixture.

Friday’s schedule will now include four matches involving some of the competition’s leading clubs in the same round.

Al-Nassr will face Al-Faisaly at 16:30, followed by Al-Ittihad’s meeting with Al-Diriyah at 18:30. Two further matches are scheduled for 21:00, with Al-Hilal playing Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ahli taking on Al-Khaleej.

Saudi journalist Sami Al-Qadi had earlier reported that flight-related circumstances were behind the postponement. According to his report, Al-Khaleej had been unable to leave Dammam airport for its journey to Jeddah.
