Nico Paz described Como’s 4-1 victory over Manchester United in the Champions League as one of the finest matches of his career, after scoring twice and creating another goal.
The result, secured in the third round of the competition’s league phase, gave Como a memorable victory and left Manchester United without a win in seven consecutive matches.
“ This was one of the most beautiful matches of my career, and I will never forget it,” Paz told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“What happened went beyond everything I had dreamed of. We played an incredible match and must continue working in this way.”
Paz was named player of the match after his influential display, which helped Como claim all three points against the English club.
“This is a historic night for everyone at Como and we have to keep going like this,” added the Argentina international.
“We must not think about where we might end up. Instead, we have to approach every match as if it were our last.”
Como’s four goals came from Paz, who scored twice, Anastasios Douvikas and Jacopo Ramon. Joshua Zirkzee scored Manchester United’s only goal.
Paz opened his account early in the match, explaining how he found the net: “I saw the space in front of me and took the shot. I am happy to experience nights like this in front of my family.”
The victory moved Como on to six points and into fifth place in the standings. Manchester United remained on three points in 22nd position.
