Hussein Ammouta to ring changes to Al Ahly line up

Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammouta is expected to make six changes to his starting lineup for the upcoming Egypt Capital Cup clash against Al Qanah as he looks to rotate his squad and give more players an opportunity to feature.

The Moroccan gaffer is considering several adjustments to the team that faced Uganda’s Kitara in their previous outing, with the technical staff keen to manage the squad’s workload while maintaining the club’s positive momentum.

Goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir is expected to start between the posts, with Mohamed Hany, Tawfik Mohamed, Ashraf Dari and Yassin Marei forming the defensive line.

In midfield, Marwan Attia and Emam Ashour are expected to retain their places, while Omar Al-Saai and Akram Tawfik are competing for the remaining position.

The attacking department is expected to feature Ashraf Bencharki, Moncef Bekarar and Ahmed Sayed Zizo as Al Ahly look to maintain their threat going forward.

The anticipated changes form part of Al Ahly’s efforts to keep their squad fresh and ensure that players who have had limited playing time receive opportunities to prove themselves.

The Egyptian giants will also be eager to build on their recent victory over arch-rivals Zamalek as they prepare for their next assignment.

With several players competing for starting positions, the encounter against Al Qanah presents an opportunity for Thorup to assess his options and maintain competition within the squad ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.
