Paris Saint-Germain defender Nuno Mendes will be out for several weeks after suffering a left-thigh injury against Strasbourg on Saturday.
The Portugal international was forced off in the closing stages of Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 victory after reporting muscular discomfort.
“After sustaining an injury to his left thigh against Strasbourg, Nuno Mendes will be unavailable for the next few weeks,” the club said on its website.
Mendes had come on as a substitute for Lucas Digne and was withdrawn with Paris Saint-Germain leading 2-1. His departure left the French side with 10 players for the final minutes of the match.
The injury occurred after Ousmane Dembele had scored Paris Saint-Germain’s second goal and before Desire Doue added a third to secure the victory.
Mendes will now miss Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League match against Barcelona on Tuesday.
