Morocco will face Egypt in the semi-finals of the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations on Monday, October 19, as the hosts seek to continue their impressive run and move closer to another continental title.

The Atlas Lions secured their place in the last four after winning all three Group A matches to finish top with nine points. Egypt, meanwhile, advanced as runners-up in Group B with six points despite suffering a 4-2 defeat by Angola in their final group-stage fixture on Saturday.

The semi-final will kick off at 8:00 pm at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Indoor Hall in Rabat.

Angola’s victory over Egypt confirmed their position at the top of Group B, setting up a meeting with Algeria in the other semi-final.

Morocco reach semi-finals with perfect record

Morocco have been one of the standout teams in the competition, combining attacking firepower with a solid defence to complete the group stage without conceding a goal.

The Atlas Lions opened their campaign with a 4-0 victory over Algeria before recording a commanding 7-0 win against Zambia.

They completed their Group A fixtures with another emphatic performance, beating Libya 6-0 to finish with nine points from three matches.

Morocco scored 17 goals and conceded none across their opening three games, underlining their strength at both ends of the court ahead of the knockout stage.

The hosts will now look to carry that momentum into Monday’s encounter as they pursue a place in the final on home soil.

Egypt aim to bounce back after Angola defeat

Egypt began the tournament strongly, recording an 8-0 victory over Tanzania before defeating Mozambique 4-0 to collect six points from their first two matches.

However, their winning run came to an end against Angola, who claimed a 4-2 victory on Saturday evening to finish top of Group B.

Despite the setback, Egypt progressed to the semi-finals in second place, having scored 14 goals and conceded four during the group stage.

The meeting with Morocco presents the Egyptians with an opportunity to respond to their first defeat and challenge for a place in the continental final.

They will, however, face a Moroccan side that has yet to concede in the tournament and has demonstrated considerable attacking strength throughout the opening round.

Angola and Algeria contest other semi-final

The second semi-final will see Angola take on Algeria, with both teams seeking to secure a place in the final.

Angola claimed first place in Group B following their victory over Egypt, while Algeria advanced after finishing second in Group A behind Morocco.

The two semi-finals will determine the finalists in the continental competition.

For Morocco, the immediate challenge is to overcome Egypt and maintain their impressive form as they pursue the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations title in front of their home supporters.

With a place in the final at stake, the Atlas Lions will aim to extend their winning run and preserve the defensive solidity that has defined their campaign so far.
