Kylian Mbappe’s six-hour Paris trip was pre-planned charity visit, report says

Kylian Mbappe’s sudden journey from Madrid to Paris was agreed in advance with Real Madrid and was not an attempt to avoid the club’s commitments, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The France forward travelled to the French capital on Tuesday immediately after completing the morning training session at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground. He returned to Madrid later the same evening, with the entire trip lasting only a few hours.

The unexpected visit prompted questions inside and outside the club, particularly because it came after an international break during which Mbappe had not made the strongest impression, either through his behaviour or his image among supporters. The timing led to some concern within Real Madrid and intensified criticism of the player.

However, Mundo Deportivo reported that the trip had been arranged beforehand and carefully planned with the club’s management. Mbappe had travelled to Paris to attend a charity event organised by one of the organisations he supports, where he spent time with a group of children.

The report said the appearance was part of a commitment Mbappe had made some time ago and described the purpose of the visit as entirely humanitarian.

Real Madrid’s position was presented as balanced. The club is understood to believe that some of Mbappe’s recent actions require consideration, while also feeling that the attention surrounding almost every move made by the France international has been exaggerated.

His short trip to Paris was cited as an example of that wider scrutiny, with the report stressing that the journey was not spontaneous and had been authorised in advance.

Mbappe was also not the only Real Madrid player to leave during this period. England midfielder Jude Bellingham is due to spend two days in London filming advertising commitments of his own.

Those arrangements were scheduled to coincide with a production break, according to the report. The situation was therefore cited as evidence that Mbappe’s visit fell within the type of personal commitments permitted for the club’s players, rather than representing a departure from team responsibilities.

The Paris journey came as Real Madrid prepared for its upcoming fixtures, making the timing of Mbappe’s absence a source of immediate speculation. But the explanation reported by Mundo Deportivo indicates that the forward’s travel had been known to the club and was linked to a previously arranged charitable appearance.
