Morocco international Amine Harit has returned to training with Marseille ahead of Sunday’s trip to Troyes, giving the French club a potential boost after a difficult period of injuries.

The attacking midfielder has resumed work with the Marseille squad after being forced off in the club’s 2-1 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain on 20 September.

However, his involvement against Troyes will depend on how he responds physically in the coming days, with Marseille continuing to assess his condition before the sixth-round Ligue 1 fixture.

Harit could strengthen Marseille attack

Harit’s return could provide Marseille with another option in attack at a time when the club are dealing with several absences.

L’Equipe highlighted the potential importance of his comeback, writing that «the possible return of Amin Harith, after several days of treatment, will provide an additional option in Marseille’s attacking line, given the absence of a number of the team’s pillars”.

Marseille will hope the Moroccan can complete his return without suffering another setback.

Difficult period for Marseille

Marseille sit 17th in the Ligue 1 standings and will be looking to recover from a challenging international break.

The club have also suffered a number of injuries and were beaten by Montpellier in a friendly during the break.

The situation is particularly demanding because Marseille are about to enter a congested period in their schedule, with eight matches to play in less than a month.

That run includes Europa League fixtures against Besiktas and Olympiacos.

Cornelius faces lengthy absence

Among Marseille’s injury concerns is Canada international Derek Cornelius, who suffered a hip injury during training with his national team.

The defender is not expected to return before the beginning of 2027.

Cornelius is one of the defensive options alongside Morocco international Nayef Aguerd, Jeffrey Kondogbia and Egan-Riley, leaving Marseille with further concerns at the back.

Nnadi nearing return

There is better news regarding Nigerian midfielder Toshukwu Nnadi, who suffered a meniscus injury while playing for Monaco last summer.

Nnadi opted against undergoing surgery and is now expected to become eligible for competitive action soon.

For Marseille, Harit’s return to training is another positive development as they attempt to navigate a demanding run of fixtures while managing a growing injury list.
