Souleymane Coulibaly joins Hapoel Acre from Varnamo

Ivorian-Malian centre-back Souleymane Coulibaly has joined Israeli club Hapoel Acre from Swedish side Varnamo.

The 24-year-old defender completed the move on 16 September 2026, switching from Sweden’s Superettan to Hapoel Acre in Liga Leumit. Coulibaly’s arrival gives the Israeli club a central defender with experience of football in Ivory Coast, Israel and Sweden.

Coulibaly began his senior career with Stella Club before moving to ASEC Mimosas in July 2021. He spent the 2023-24 season with Hapoel Hadera on loan from ASEC Mimosas, returning to the Ivorian club at the end of the campaign.

He moved to Varnamo in July 2025 and played in the Svenska Cupen during the 2026-27 season. Coulibaly made one appearance in the competition, starting the match and completing all 90 minutes. He did not score or register an assist.

Born in Diago on 26 December 2001, Coulibaly stands 1.92m tall and operates primarily as a centre-back. He is right-footed and holds Ivorian and Malian nationality.

His move to Hapoel Acre represents the latest stage of a career that has taken him from Stella Club and ASEC Mimosas to clubs in Israel and Sweden. His previous spell in Israel came with Hapoel Hadera, where he played after joining on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.

Hapoel Acre have now secured Coulibaly’s services following his departure from Varnamo, with the defender registered as part of the club’s squad for the new season. Coulibaly completed his transfer to Hapoel Acre on 16 September 2026.
