Kaizer Chiefs have signed Elias Mokwana on a three-year contract, according to a source familiar with the agreement.
The Soweto club officially unveiled the winger, known as “Kideo”, on Wednesday but did not confirm the length of his contract.
“It’s a three-year contract. It’s a lucrative deal for him,” the source said.
Kaizer Chiefs and Mokwana’s representatives, Cream Sports Management, have declined to comment on the reported terms.
The 27-year-old has been given the number 14 shirt and could make his debut for Amakhosi when they return to competitive action on Sunday, 8 November.
Kaizer Chiefs will face Siwelele in the Carling Knockout quarterfinal, with the match scheduled to take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo. Mokwana’s availability for the fixture will depend on his fitness.
The KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga-born player will also be hoping his move to Kaizer Chiefs helps him earn a recall to Bafana Bafana.
Mokwana has made 12 senior international appearances for South Africa and has scored two goals.
