Pitso Mosimane has named his final South Africa squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with Mbekezeli Mbokazi returning and captain Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena included.
Mosimane began his second spell in charge of Bafana Bafana with two wins last month, defeating Guinea and Eritrea in the opening Group D matches. Those results put South Africa at the top of the standings.
The next challenge is a two-match meeting with Kenya, whose head coach is Benni McCarthy, South Africa’s all-time leading scorer. The fixtures add an intriguing contest between Mosimane and the former Bafana Bafana striker.
South Africa will host Kenya at Orlando Stadium on November 13 before travelling to Nairobi for the return match four days later. Taking maximum points from both games would strengthen Bafana Bafana’s position in the group and leave them in the driving seat.
