Stade Briochin sign Senegalese-French defender Bilal Faye

Senegalese-French centre-back Bilal Faye has joined Stade Briochin as a free agent, strengthening the French club’s squad for the National 1 Group B campaign.

Faye, 21, completed the move on 16 September 2026 after leaving Stade Laval B at the start of July. No transfer fee was involved in the switch, with the defender arriving at Stade Briochin after a period without a club.

Born in Lens, Faye holds Senegalese and French nationality and stands 1.88m tall. He is a right-footed central defender, with his arrival giving Stade Briochin another option in the heart of their defence.

The move follows two seasons with Stade Laval B, where Faye made 30 appearances in National 2 across three groups. He played 18 times in Group C, 10 times in Group B and twice in Group D.

Faye also accumulated significant experience at under-19 level. He made 38 appearances in National U19 Group C and featured twice in Group A, while also playing once in the Coupe Gambardella.

He joined Stade Laval’s senior reserve side from Stade Laval Under-19s in July 2024, having previously spent time with RC Lens Under-17s. That earlier move took place in July 2022 and was recorded as a free transfer.

His switch to Stade Briochin represents a move into a new senior environment after two seasons of football with Laval B. The club compete in National 1 Group B, providing Faye with the opportunity to continue his career at the next stage of France’s league system.

Faye’s playing record to date has been built almost entirely around defensive football, with his appearances spread across National 2 and youth competitions. He has not been credited with a goal in the recorded matches, while his primary role has remained at centre-back.

Stade Briochin completed the signing on 16 September 2026, bringing Faye into their squad after his departure from Stade Laval B.
