Al-Arabi sign Dutch-Moroccan midfielder Walid Ould-Chikh on loan

Dutch-Moroccan attacking midfielder Walid Ould-Chikh has joined Kuwaiti club Al-Arabi from Heracles Almelo on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old switch was completed on 15 September 2026, with the deal taking him away from the Netherlands’ second tier and into a new chapter with Al-Arabi. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Ould-Chikh joined Heracles permanently from Eintracht Braunschweig on 1 July 2026 for €150,000, but his time at the Dutch club has lasted only a matter of weeks before the move to Kuwait. He had previously spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Heracles from Braunschweig.

His departure comes after he did not make an appearance for Heracles in the opening six possible games of the 2026-27 Keuken Kampioen Divisie season. He recorded no goals, assists or cards during that period.

Ould-Chikh originally moved to Braunschweig from FC Volendam in July 2024 for €350,000. Before that permanent transfer, he had spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Roda JC, returning to Volendam at the end of the campaign.

The midfielder began his senior pathway with Volendam after joining from the club’s under-21 side in October 2021. He had moved into Volendam’s youth setup from De Graafschap’s under-21 team in 2020, following earlier spells with Hercules and DHSC.

Born in Roosendaal in the Netherlands, Ould-Chikh stands 1.86m tall and is naturally right-footed. He operates primarily as an attacking midfielder, providing Al-Arabi with a player whose career to date has been built largely in Dutch football before his move abroad.

Al-Arabi’s agreement with Ould-Chikh runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Heracles Almelo.
