Joseph Amoah: Ghana winger joins Dubai City FC from Al-Hamra

Ghanaian winger Joseph Amoah has joined Dubai City FC from fellow United Arab Emirates First Division League club Al-Hamra, adding a new attacking option to the Dubai side’s squad. The 24-year-old right winger completed the move on 15 September 2026.

Amoah arrives after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Al-Hamra. He had not made an appearance in the UAE First Division League this season before switching clubs, with four matches played by the competition at the time of his move.

The Accra-born player spent two seasons with Al-Hamra after leaving Bosnian club Zeljeznicar in September 2024. He joined Al-Hamra as a free agent and remained with the club before moving within the same division to Dubai City FC.

Amoah’s route to the UAE followed a series of free transfers during the early part of his career. Before joining Zeljeznicar, he played for Ghanaian side Accra Lions, having previously represented FK Rudar Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and AS Trencin.

His time at Rudar Prijedor brought the main honour of his career so far, as he helped the club win the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Second League Champion RS title in the 2020-21 season. He moved to Accra Lions in July 2022 before joining Zeljeznicar later that month.

A right-footed attacker, Amoah stands 1.78m tall and operates primarily on the right side of the forward line. His arrival gives Dubai City FC a player with experience in Ghana, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia and the UAE.

Dubai City FC compete in the First Division League, the same competition in which Amoah played with Al-Hamra. The move therefore keeps the Ghanaian in the UAE’s second tier while changing his club for the 2026-27 season.

Amoah’s transfer to Dubai City FC was completed on 15 September 2026.
