Sundowns seek to extend Betway Premiership lead against winless Chippa United

Mamelodi Sundowns will look to strengthen their position at the top of the Betway Premiership when they face Chippa United at Buffalo City Stadium in East London on 12 September 2026.

The Brazilians arrive for their eighth league match of the campaign after beating Siwelele FC 3-0 on Wednesday evening. That result moved Sundowns six points clear at the summit.

They could end the weekend nine points ahead of second-placed Orlando Pirates, who are playing in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Chippa United, meanwhile, are still waiting for their first victory of the campaign. The Chilli Boys drew 0-0 with Milford FC last season, a result which marked their fourth stalemate in five games this term.
