Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius face pressure at Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s victory over Inter Milan did little to calm the mood at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Supporters still voiced their frustration after the match, with Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe among the players facing the strongest criticism. Despite collecting an important result, the team’s recent performances continue to raise questions.
The pressure on both forwards is understandable given their status. Mbappe and Vinicius are expected to decide matches, create danger and lead Madrid’s attack. When the football falls below expectations, their performances naturally receive intense attention, even when the team manages to win.
Jose Mourinho now wants an immediate response. Madrid have reportedly set a demanding target of nine points from their next three league matches against Rayo Vallecano, Elche and Atletico Madrid. The sequence is viewed as an opportunity to rebuild confidence and restore a stronger connection with the Bernabéu.
The Atletico clash already appears to be the defining test. A perfect run would ease the tension before the next international break, while any dropped points against Rayo or Elche could deepen the uncertainty surrounding the squad.
Mourinho therefore needs more than victories. He wants Mbappe and Vinicius to rediscover their influence and help Madrid produce performances capable of silencing the growing criticism.
