Chelsea weigh Alex Scott move as Bournemouth set £100m asking price

Chelsea are continuing to assess a possible move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, but could face a fee of about 100 million euros if their interest develops into formal negotiations.

Scott, who is 23 and plays for England, has emerged as one of Chelsea’s leading midfield targets as the London club looks to replace Enzo Fernandez, whose departure has left a gap in the team’s plans.

According to Flashscore, Chelsea have maintained their interest in Scott for some time, but the possibility of him moving to Stamford Bridge has become a more prominent option as the club considers how to strengthen in midfield.

Chelsea had been close to signing Lamine Camara from Monaco, although they were unable to complete a deal. That has left the club continuing its search for a suitable addition in the position.

Bournemouth have no intention of lowering their financial demands for Scott, with the report indicating that his price could reach around 100 million euros if Chelsea make a serious approach.

There are understood to be encouraging signs from the player’s side. Scott is reportedly open to considering a move to Stamford Bridge, provided the two clubs can agree on the value of the transfer.

Chelsea are preparing to make a significant financial offer in 2027 and regard Scott as one of their main choices for strengthening the midfield during the next winter transfer window.

The club is keen to move quickly because other teams could enter the race if Bournemouth’s position on selling Scott becomes clearer. Chelsea therefore intend to use the coming weeks to decide whether to pursue the deal before the winter window opens.

That decision will include an assessment of the prospective cost and the likelihood of persuading Bournemouth to part with the midfielder.

Scott is not the only player being monitored by Chelsea. The club is also keeping track of Manu Kone of Roma and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace as it considers its midfield options.

Despite the potential financial obstacles, Scott’s willingness to examine a transfer and Chelsea’s need for greater depth in midfield have placed him among the strongest candidates on the club’s shortlist.
