Al Ahly striker Soufiane Bendjida frustrated by lack of service, Moroccan report says

Al Ahly forward Soufiane Bendjida is unhappy with the lack of support from his team-mates and believes he has not been receiving the passes needed to make an impact in attack, according to a report in Morocco.

Bendjida joined Al Ahly this summer after leaving Maghreb Fes, where he finished as the Moroccan league’s leading scorer last season with 20 goals.

However, the Morocco international has yet to score in the four league matches he has played for Al Ahly this season.

Moroccan website Le Sport 360 reported that Bendjida has been frustrated by the way he has had to repeatedly drop deep to ask for the ball. The report said that this has required him to expend significant physical energy away from the penalty area, limiting his ability to carry out his main attacking responsibilities.

The striker’s concerns come after Al Ahly dropped points for the first time in the Egyptian league this season. They drew 1-1 with Al Mokawloon Al Arab in their fourth-round match at Green Mountain Stadium.

Al Ahly took one point from the match to move to 10 points, level with Zamalek. The result left Pyramids alone at the top of the league with 12 points.

Al Mokawloon Al Arab moved to four points and sit 13th in the table.
