Chelsea to miss Caicedo and Henderson for Hull City match, says Alonso

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Moises Caicedo and Jordan Henderson will miss Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Hull City because of injury.

The two sides will meet in the fourth round of the competition, with Hull City preparing to visit Chelsea next Saturday.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Alonso said: “Moises Caicedo and Jordan Henderson will not be available for the match against Hull City because of injury.”

Alonso was also asked about the possibility of a change in the club’s ownership, but said he was not in a position to provide information on the matter.

“Am I the person who can give you information about these issues? I am not,” he said.

The Chelsea manager also discussed the relationship between Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers away from the pitch, saying it had benefited their performances during matches.

“The relationship between Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers off the pitch helps them a lot during games because of the strong connection between them,” Alonso said. “Palmer was very influential and played an important role in completing the deal.”

Hull City have yet to concede a goal since the start of the league season, giving them the best defensive record among clubs in the five major European leagues.

They are third in the Premier League table with seven points, while Chelsea are immediately behind them on six points.
