Togo name 30-player provisional squad for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burundi and Zambia

Togo head coach Patrice Neveu has announced a 30-player provisional squad for the next two rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers, with the Hawks set to face Burundi and Zambia in Group I.

Togo will begin the international window at home against Burundi on Friday, 25 September 2026. The match will kick off at 16:00 GMT at Stade de Kegue in Lome.

Four days later, Neveu’s side will travel to Zambia for a meeting with the Chipolopolo. That fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, 29 September at 16:00 GMT.

The two matches will be important for Togo’s hopes of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Neveu has included four goalkeepers, 10 defenders, eight midfielders and eight forwards in his initial selection.

Togo’s campaign in Group I will continue with the home fixture against Burundi before the squad makes the trip to Zambia for the second match in the space of four days.

The Hawks have therefore selected a broad provisional group as they prepare for a demanding double-header. The final squad for both matches will be drawn from the 30 players named by Neveu.

The opening match against Burundi will take place at Stade de Kegue in Lome, where Togo will have home advantage before travelling to face the Chipolopolo in Zambia. Both games are scheduled to begin at 16:00 GMT.

With the two fixtures coming in quick succession, the results could play an important role in shaping Togo’s position in the qualification race for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
