Bassouamina transfer rumour emerges after latest club change

Congolese-French forward Mons Bassouamina is being linked with Maritimo, his current club, following a reported move from Pafos on 3 September.

The 28-year-old centre-forward is listed with the Liga Portugal side after spending the 2025-26 season at Pafos in Cyprus. The proposed switch would represent a return to Portugal for Bassouamina, who previously joined Clermont Foot from Pau FC in July 2024 before moving to Pafos a year later.

Bassouamina has not made an appearance in the listed 2026-27 domestic or European qualifying competitions. His current market value is €325,000, while his highest recorded valuation was €900,000.

Born in Gonesse, France, Bassouamina has represented Congo and France at nationality level, although no international appearances are recorded in the available details. He began his senior career with AS Nancy after progressing through the club’s youth and reserve sides.

The forward’s latest contractual information places him at Maritimo until 30 June 2027.
