Burkina Faso face Benin, Ghana and Togo in 2026 CAN U17 qualifying group

Burkina Faso have been placed in Group A alongside Benin, Ghana and Togo for the CAN U17 qualifiers in the UFOA-B zone, following the draw held in Ouagadougou on Thursday.

The tournament will be staged in Ouagadougou from 10 to 23 October 2026, with the draw setting up a four-team contest in Group A and a three-team Group B.

The two teams that reach the final of the zonal tournament will qualify for the final phase of the CAN U17. That makes progression from the competition the route to securing a place at the continental finals.

Burkina Faso will therefore play in a group that includes three neighbouring West African nations, with Benin, Ghana and Togo completing the line-up. The hosts’ position in Group A was confirmed during the ceremony in Ouagadougou.

Ghana are also among the teams drawn into Group A, while Benin and Togo will join them and Burkina Faso in the opening section of the competition. The four sides will contest the group-stage places available in the zonal qualifiers.

Group B will feature Cote d’Ivoire, Niger and Nigeria. The draw leaves the second group with three participating teams, compared with four in Group A.

The UFOA-B qualifying competition is scheduled to take place over 13 days in October 2026. Its decisive outcome will be determined by the final of the zonal tournament, with both finalists earning tickets to the final phase of the CAN U17.

For Burkina Faso, the tournament will take place on home soil in Ouagadougou. Their Group A campaign will be played against Benin, Ghana and Togo, while the teams in Group B will be Cote d’Ivoire, Niger and Nigeria.
