Jordan Ayew transfer: AEL Limassol weigh move for Ghanaian-French forward

Ghanaian-French forward Jordan Ayew, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to AEL Limassol in the Cyprus League.

The 34-year-old left Leicester on 1 July after one season with the club and is now being considered by AEL as they assess options for their attack. The potential move remains a rumour and no transfer has been confirmed.

Ayew made four appearances at the 2026 World Cup, starting all four matches and playing 84% of Ghana’s available minutes. He did not score or provide an assist during the tournament.

The centre-forward joined Leicester from Crystal Palace in August 2024 for a reported €5.9m fee. He made 305 Premier League appearances during his career, scoring 42 goals and providing 25 assists, while also playing in France’s Ligue 1 and England’s Championship.

Ayew began his senior career at Marseille, where he won the French league title in 2009-10 and three French League Cups. He later played for Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City and Crystal Palace before moving to Leicester.

AEL Limassol are understood to be the club currently linked with Ayew, but the available information does not indicate that negotiations have reached an advanced stage. He remains without a club.
