Burkinabe forward Arnaud Yao set to miss out on Hassania Agadir move

Arnaud Yao will not join Hassania Union Sport Agadir after the Moroccan club withdrew from the proposed transfer of the Burkina Faso striker.

The two parties had reached an agreement for Yao to sign a three-season contract, but the move could not be completed after the player’s medical examination was deemed inconclusive.

According to an internal source at the Moroccan club, cited by Africafoot, Hassania Agadir decided to end its interest in the player following the outcome of the medical assessment. No further details about the examination have been made public.

The breakdown means Yao will remain without the move to Morocco, despite having appeared set to continue his career with Hassania Agadir. The club had been prepared to bring him in on a long-term deal, but the agreement was not enough to complete the transfer.

Yao’s proposed switch to Hassania Agadir is the latest transfer opportunity to fall through for the forward. His move to TP Mazembe had also failed to materialise before negotiations with the Moroccan side progressed.

The Burkina Faso international had attracted attention after scoring 12 goals in Fasofoot for Racing Club de Koudougou (RCK). That tally made him a prominent attacking figure for the club and helped place him on the radar of teams outside Burkina Faso.

However, the failed medical means his next destination remains unresolved. Hassania Agadir’s decision to withdraw closes the latest route for Yao, who will now have to wait for another opportunity after the collapse of the proposed three-year agreement.

The Moroccan club’s withdrawal also brings an end to a transfer process that had appeared close to completion. Although terms had been agreed, the medical examination prevented the deal from being finalised and Yao will not sign for Hassania Union Sport Agadir.

For now, his record of 12 Fasofoot goals with RCK remains the key foundation of his recent career, while the unsuccessful negotiations with TP Mazembe and Hassania Agadir leave both of his latest transfer possibilities closed.
