Kylian Mbappe settles fee dispute with legal team over PSG case
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has reached an agreement with the lawyers who represented him in his legal battle against Paris Saint-Germain after a dispute over their fees, according to French media reports.
The legal team initially sought €6.2 million in success fees, arguing that an agreement had been reached with Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, over additional payment if PSG were ordered to pay more than the €55 million originally claimed. However, the agreement was reportedly never signed by Lamari.
According to L’Equipe, the lawyers subsequently accused Mbappe’s entourage of failing to honour its commitments. The player’s representatives considered the requested amount excessive, and the disagreement eventually led to negotiations between the parties.
A settlement has now reportedly been reached, with the lawyers agreeing to receive approximately €1.5 million on top of the fees already paid. Sources close to Mbappe rejected suggestions that the player intended to avoid his financial obligations, insisting that he did not want to become a “cash cow” for those around him.
The dispute follows Mbappe’s successful legal claim against his former club. In December 2025, a Paris labour court ordered PSG to pay him approximately €61 million in outstanding wages, bonuses and related payments.
However, the legal battle took another turn in September 2026 when a Paris court ordered Mbappe to pay PSG €60,000 in compensation for financial disruption caused by the temporary freezing of the club’s bank accounts during the proceedings.
The latest agreement resolves the separate disagreement over legal fees, adding another development to the complicated legal fallout from Mbappe’s departure from PSG in 2024.
