Egypt’s September squad under scrutiny as speculation grows around Pharaons
With Egypt’s September international gathering approaching, speculation is mounting over the players who could be included in the Pharaohs’ next squad.
The Egyptian Football Association has not yet made an official announcement, but several names are already being widely discussed in the media and on social media. Much of the attention is focused on players based abroad, with supporters and observers waiting for confirmation of the group that manager Hossam Hassan will select.
Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush are among the leading names expected to feature in the conversation around the squad. The two forwards are regarded as key figures for the national team and are being linked with a place in the September selection.
They could be joined by a number of more experienced players, including Mahmoud Trezeguet, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Hamdi Fathi. Their potential involvement would give Hassan a blend of established international experience as he continues to shape his group.
Younger or emerging players are also being mentioned as possible additions. Ibrahim Adel and Hamza Abdelkarim are among those whose names have been raised, with both viewed as potential options to strengthen the Egypt squad.
At this stage, however, none of the reported names has been confirmed by the Egyptian Football Association. The list remains the subject of speculation, and the final composition of the Pharaohs will only become clear when the federation releases its official communique.
The September gathering is considered an important stage for Hassan as he works to improve the cohesion of his squad before Egypt’s next official commitments. The manager is expected to use the camp to continue building understanding within the team and to assess the balance between experienced internationals and younger prospects.
For now, the focus remains on the awaited announcement from the federation. Salah, Marmoush and the other senior players are among the most prominent names associated with the possible selection, while Adel and Abdelkarim represent the younger profiles being discussed.
Until the official list is published, the reports surrounding Egypt’s September squad remain preliminary. The federation’s announcement will determine which of the widely circulated names are ultimately called up and confirm the group that will work under Hassan during the upcoming international period.
