Ismaila Sarr makes public statement of intent as Liverpool move stalls

Ismaila Sarr has removed several Crystal Palace-related photographs from his Instagram account as his desire to join Liverpool appears to have increased tensions with his current club.

Liverpool are pushing to sign the Senegal international, who is understood to regard a move to Anfield as a major opportunity in his career. However, Crystal Palace do not want to sanction his departure despite the concrete interest from the Merseyside club.

Sarr is reportedly struggling to understand Palace’s position as the two clubs consider how to resolve the situation. The removal of the images from his social media account has made the disagreement increasingly visible and suggests the forward wants his position to change quickly, according to journalist Nabil Djellit.

The 27-year-old remains under contract with Crystal Palace until 30 June 2029. His current market value is estimated at 45m euros by Transfermarkt, meaning any negotiations are likely to involve a significant fee.

Further discussions between Liverpool and Crystal Palace are expected to be important in determining whether the proposed transfer can progress. Sarr is reported to earn 4,348,684 euros per year, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 CFA francs.
