Barcelona begin Champions League campaign against Feyenoord as fixtures are confirmed

Barcelona will begin their UEFA Champions League league-phase campaign at home to Feyenoord on 9 September 2026, with their schedule also including meetings with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

The fixtures for the league phase have been announced by UEFA, with the five-time European champions aiming to win the competition for the first time under its new format.

Barcelona have been drawn against Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, both from Pot One. Their meeting with Paris Saint-Germain will take place immediately before a La Liga fixture against Real Madrid, adding to the significance of a demanding period in their season.

The league phase will therefore take Barcelona from September 2026 through to the end of January 2027, with four of their eight matches being played at home.

Their games against Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain will be among the most closely watched fixtures in the schedule. Barcelona have won five of their six previous meetings with Manchester City, including their most recent encounter.

That match ended in a 4-0 victory for Barcelona at home in the group stage of the 2016-17 Champions League. The Catalan club’s record against City gives them a positive recent history in the fixture, although the two sides will meet at the league-phase stage of the revamped competition.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have faced each other 16 times. However, Paris Saint-Germain have won the last four meetings between the clubs.

The latest of those victories came in Spain in the second round of last season’s competition, when Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2-1 win. Barcelona will travel to the Parc des Princes for the return fixture on 20 October, shortly before their domestic meeting with Real Madrid.

The league phase replaces the former group-stage system, and Barcelona will be seeking to make a strong start when Feyenoord visit Camp Nou in the opening round. Their campaign will then continue away to Galatasaray before the high-profile trip to Paris.

After home fixtures against Aston Villa and Manchester City, Barcelona will travel to face Sabah and Sporting CP before completing the league phase against Como at Camp Nou on 27 January 2027.
