Luis Diaz has reassured Bayern Munich supporters that the muscle problem he suffered against Arsenal is not serious.
The Colombia winger said he may need only a few days’ rest after being forced off late in Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the third round of the Champions League league phase.
“It is not serious,” Diaz told reporters.
The 28-year-old added: “Maybe I will just rest for a few days.”
Diaz came on as a substitute in the 68th minute, replacing Ismael Saibari after Bayern manager Vincent Kompany introduced him to the match.
However, his involvement was short-lived. He left the field in the 90th minute after experiencing muscle pain, prompting concern over his fitness.
Bayern Munich are awaiting the results of medical examinations to establish the extent of the problem and assess whether it will affect Diaz’s availability for their upcoming fixtures.
The findings are also expected to clarify when the winger can return to training and resume playing for the German club.
Bayern face Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
