Perak FA sign Nigeria centre-back Precious Uchenna from Maejo Utd
Perak FA have signed Nigeria centre-back Precious Uchenna from Thailand’s Maejo Utd on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old completed the move on 29 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with the Malaysian A1 Semi-Pro League club until 30 June 2027. Uchenna will wear the number 12 shirt at Perak.
Uchenna joins after a spell with Maejo Utd, where he had been since August 2025. He originally moved to the Thai club from Suphanburi FC in another free transfer, having joined Suphanburi in August 2024.
The 1.91m defender is a right-footed centre-back. His arrival continues a series of international moves during a career that has included clubs in Thailand and Malaysia.
Uchenna has been registered for Perak’s 2026-27 campaign in the Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League. The club have played one possible match in the competition, although he has not yet made an appearance or been named in the starting line-up.
He previously had a spell with Perak beginning in July 2025 before returning to Maejo Utd. His latest move marks a fresh return to the Malaysian side, this time after leaving the Thai club without a transfer fee.
Uchenna’s contract runs for the remainder of the 2026-27 season, with its stated expiry date set for 30 June 2027. The agreement gives Perak a Nigeria-born central defender with experience of playing in both the Thai and Malaysian football systems.
His career record also includes an earlier move from Suphanburi to Maejo Utd, completed without a fee, before the defender’s return to Perak. The latest transfer was registered on 29 August and places him in the squad for the club’s current A1 Semi-Pro League campaign.
Precious Uchenna has therefore completed a free transfer from Maejo Utd to Perak FA and is contracted to the Malaysian club until June 2027.
