DAZN expands its global footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa, bringing every LaLiga EA Sports match to fans in the region through 2029

DAZN, the world’s leading sports entertainment platform, has secured the rights to broadcast LALIGA EA SPORTS across Sub-Saharan Africa for the next three seasons, from 2026/27 through to the end of the 2028/29 season.

DAZN’s users will have access to all 380 LALIGA EA SPORTS matches each season, available live and on-demand across 48 markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.*

The agreement with LALIGA marks DAZN’s expansion in Africa, deepening the platform’s global footprint in one of the world’s rapidly growing football regions. Through this launch, DAZN will bring fans across the continent access to premium international football alongside an expanding portfolio of local, regional and global sports content.

Starting this weekend, fans across Sub-Saharan Africa will be able to experience every moment of the LALIGA EA SPORTS season live on DAZN. They will have access to all 380 matches from one of the world’s most popular football competitions, featuring iconic clubs including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Real Sociedad, Valencia CF, Athletic Club and Villarreal CF, among many others. Beyond the live action, DAZN subscribers will also enjoy highlights, archive footage, weekly programming and exclusive behind-the-scenes LALIGA content, bringing them closer to the players, clubs and stories that make Spanish football unique throughout the coming seasons.

Matches will be available with both English and Spanish commentary, giving fans greater flexibility to enjoy the competition in the language that best suits their viewing preferences.

The launch also builds on DAZN’s growing commitment to football across Africa. Earlier this year, DAZN launched FIFA+ on DAZN, bringing together FIFA’s extensive library of live and on-demand content exclusively on the platform, including sub-confederation competitions and more than 30 African member association leagues. Through FIFA+, fans have already been able to watch domestic football from countries including Burkina Faso, Malawi, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Mali, Burundi, Botswana, Tunisia, Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, among many others.

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said: “LALIGA is home to some of the biggest clubs, players and rivalries in world football, and we are delighted to expand our longstanding partnership by bringing every match to fans across Sub-Saharan Africa over the next three seasons.”

“Football is at the heart of DAZN’s global offering. We have built one of the most extensive football portfolios in the world, spanning domestic leagues, international competitions and national team football. Earlier this year, we expanded that offering through the launch of FIFA+ on DAZN, which includes dozens of African domestic leagues and competitions on our platform. This agreement further reinforces our commitment to football fans across Africa and strengthens DAZN’s position as the global home of sport.”

Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, said: “Sub-Saharan Africa is a region with enormous passion for football and a growing community of LALIGA fans. Through this agreement with DAZN, we are strengthening our long-standing relationship with one of our most important global partners and making it easier than ever for millions of fans across the region to follow every match of our competition. At LALIGA, we remain committed to working with leading broadcasters and digital platforms that share our ambition to bring the best football experience to audiences around the world.”

The agreement builds on the strong and longstanding relationship between LALIGA and DAZN, which already spans several strategic international markets, including Spain, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Together, both organisations continue to expand LALIGA’s global reach, delivering every season the excitement of Spanish football to millions of fans through one of the world’s leading sports entertainment platforms.

By making every LALIGA match available across the region, DAZN will provide supporters with more opportunities to follow their favourite clubs and players throughout the season.
