Samuel Edozie transfer rumour: Lecce consider move for Southampton winger

Southampton’s England-Nigeria winger Samuel Edozie is being linked with a move to Italian club Lecce, who are preparing for the 2026-27 Serie A campaign.

The 23-year-old has started the Championship season with two appearances and one assist for Southampton. He has also featured once in the EFL Cup, although he has not started any of those matches.

Edozie remains under contract at Southampton until 30 June 2027, meaning any move to Lecce would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. His current market value is listed at €4m.

The London-born winger joined Southampton from Manchester City Under-21s in September 2022 in a deal worth €8m. He spent last season on loan at Belgian side Anderlecht before returning to St Mary’s at the end of the campaign.

Edozie came through the youth system at Millwall before moving to Manchester City, where he won the Under-21 Premier League title three times and the FA Youth Cup. His recent record at Southampton has been affected by limited starting opportunities, with his Championship appearances this term coming from the bench.

The reported interest from Lecce would offer Edozie a potential move from the Championship to Serie A, but there is no indication yet that a transfer has been agreed.
