Crystal Palace consider move for Stuttgart midfielder Bilal El Khannouss

Moroccan-Belgian midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, currently with Stuttgart, has been linked with a move to Premier League club Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joined Stuttgart permanently from Leicester on 1 July 2026 after spending the previous season on loan at the Bundesliga club. Stuttgart paid €15m for the transfer, with El Khannouss signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2030.

El Khannouss has made one appearance for Stuttgart this season, featuring for 22 minutes in the DFB-Pokal. He also played in all six of Morocco’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, where he was named in the starting line-up for each game and played 82% of the available minutes.

His current market value is listed at €35m, although there is no indication of a fee being discussed between Stuttgart and Palace. The reported interest comes less than two months after the German club completed his permanent signing from Leicester.

El Khannouss began his senior career at Genk after progressing through the Belgian club’s youth system and moved to Leicester in August 2024 for €22.5m. He spent the 2025-26 season back at Stuttgart on loan before returning permanently this summer.

The transfer link remains at the rumour stage, with El Khannouss under contract at Stuttgart until 2030.
