Francis Uzoho in surprise Omonia 29th May transfer link

Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been linked with a move from Omonia Nicosia to Cypriot rivals Omonia 29th May.

The 27-year-old has been with Omonia Nicosia since September 2021, when he joined from APOEL Nicosia on a free transfer. He remains under contract with the club until 31 May 2027, meaning any move would have to be agreed before the end of his current deal.

Uzoho has not made an appearance for Omonia Nicosia in the early stages of the 2026-27 European qualifying campaign. He was listed among the club’s options for both Europa League and Champions League qualifying, but has played no minutes in either competition.

The goalkeeper was part of the Omonia side that won the Cypriot championship in 2025-26, adding to the two Cypriot Cup triumphs he secured with the club in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Uzoho began his senior career in Spain with Deportivo La Coruna and spent time on loan at Elche and Anorthosis before returning to Cyprus. He also reached the Africa Cup of Nations final with Nigeria in 2023-24 and was part of the Nigeria Under-17 team that won the 2013 Under-17 World Cup.

The transfer link places him in line for a possible switch within the Cyprus League, but he is currently contracted to Omonia Nicosia.
