Barcelona, Monaco and Viktoria Plzen feature in 27 August football betting treble

Monaco hold the advantage against Gornik Zabrze

AS Monaco are well placed to secure their place in the UEFA Conference League league phase after winning the first leg 3-2 in Poland and following that result with a disciplined 1-0 Ligue 1 victory over Le Havre.

The French side remain without several important attacking players, including Takumi Minamino, Ansu Fati and Matthis Abline. Folarin Balogun has also been left out while awaiting a transfer. However, Monaco manager Adi Hutter can welcome back Russian international midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, as well as the young Coulibaly after suspension.

Monaco have shown encouraging consistency during the summer, winning four of their six friendly and competitive fixtures. Their narrow lead from the first leg gives them a strong platform before the return match.

Gornik Zabrze travel under pressure after surrendering at home despite producing a spirited second-half response in the opening game. The Polish runners-up are still seeking a significant European result after falling short in qualifying for both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Their domestic form is stronger, with three wins from three matches, but their tendency to concede goals at a higher level could prevent them from overturning the deficit in Monaco. The French club’s defensive organisation away from home, combined with their first-leg advantage, makes Monaco’s qualification the most secure betting option of the three.

Goals expected in Plzen

Viktoria Plzen face a difficult task after losing the first leg 3-0 in Serbia. That poor start has left their qualification hopes in serious danger, and the Czech side must attack aggressively if they are to recover a three-goal deficit.

Plzen sit 12th in their domestic league after four rounds, with only one victory. They can, however, rely on influential attacking players including Memic, who has five goals and two assists in all competitions, and new signing Kabongo, who has already scored three league goals.

Red Star Belgrade arrive with a comfortable advantage and considerable attacking firepower. Aleksandar Katai, Jay Enem, teenage prospect Vasilije Kostov and Brazilian forward Bruno Duarte all offer threats in the final third.

The Serbian club’s confidence was strengthened by a 4-0 win over Cukaricki at the weekend, reinforcing their excellent start to the season. Plzen are expected to commit numbers forward in search of goals and qualification, which should create space for Red Star Belgrade to counter-attack.

With both teams likely to find opportunities, the selection for goals at both ends is considered the most logical alternative in the tie.
