Red Star consider move for Strasbourg B midfielder Idrissa Sabaly
French-Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Sabaly, currently with R. Strasbourg B, has been linked with a move to Red Star FC in Ligue 2.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder joined Strasbourg’s reserve side from the club’s under-19 team in July 2025 and remains under contract until 30 June 2030. The proposed move would take him from the National 2 set-up into France’s second tier.
Sabaly has also featured at senior level for Strasbourg, making one Ligue 1 appearance and playing 57 minutes. For the club’s reserve teams, he has scored five goals in 18 National 2 appearances, with two assists recorded in that competition.
Born in Le Blanc-Mesnil, Sabaly stands 1.90m tall and is left-footed. He has represented both France and Senegal as nationalities, while his listed market value is €200,000.
Red Star’s interest comes with Sabaly still in the early stages of his senior career. The midfielder moved to Strasbourg in 2024 from AS Nancy’s under-17 side before stepping up to the club’s under-19 team and then the reserve squad a year later.
There is no indication that an agreement has been reached, and the rumour remains unconfirmed. Sabaly’s current contract with Strasbourg runs through June 2030.
